Although I actually tend to buy a 50-foot hose of this type (light but strong), the 25-footer works well if you just want to add a bit of length to a hose in the front or backyard on the fly. For what feels like an eternity, we’ve been playing a balancing act with our Boston Fern perched on what I can only describe as a pot resembling a reverse dunce cap. It’s a tiny tin pot filled with rocks to prevent it from tumbling over. But as soon as the fern takes its place on top, it decides to pull a disappearing act at the slightest hint of a breeze. Our own version of this saga involved a two-decade struggle to fend off squirrels from the bird feeder in our backyard, until we stumbled upon this specific baffle that finally did the trick! Those crafty squirrels can still scavenge the bird leftovers on the ground, but they’ll never reach the feeder itself. Victory is ours!

Who knew there’d finally come a day where you could easily take your blood pressure reading right at home, with a unit that didn’t cost a fortune. No more stopping off at Walgreen’s to get a reading. Seems pretty accurate as well. It’s truly amazing how technology has advanced to the point where such essential health monitoring can be done conveniently and affordably from the comfort of one’s own home. This innovation provides greater flexibility for individuals to monitor their blood pressure regularly without having to make frequent visits to medical facilities. The convenience and accuracy of these home blood pressure monitors have certainly transformed the way people manage their health, offering peace of mind and proactive healthcare management.

This moment undoubtedly stands out as the highlight of my year. Our old Rainsoft unit (circa 2000) stopped working a few years back, and we hesitated to replace it due to the high installation cost, which was nearly 2-3 times the cost of the unit itself. After meticulously studying YouTube installation videos and researching the best brands, I settled on the Aquasure product. Over the course of a Saturday, I effortlessly installed it myself, incurring no additional installation expenses. Once upon a time, I recall the hilarious (to a 10-year-old boy) sight of my grandmother in her 70s attempting to rise from a chair, only to slide back and start the process over three or four times. Little did I know, I would one day find myself in need of a similar solution, as my back and knees rebelled against dropping to the floor to turn off a light behind the television. Another story that led to this purchase! We were staying at Angler’s Lodge in Hollister, MO while on vacation in Branson last year, and we just couldn’t get enough of the shower head in the bathroom. Johnny Morris, the visionary behind Bass Pro Shops, personally selected everything in the lodge, and it truly showed. When we got home, we were determined to find a similar shower head for our own bathroom. Although we didn’t find the exact same one, we eventually purchased a high-pressure rain version on Amazon, and it has not disappointed. Make sure to remove the pressure regulator to experience the full force of the water!

For a good chunk of time, I relied on this miraculous substance called “Ice” to keep my super-straight hair in check and prevent any potential hair-related disasters. Remember how I mentioned my aching back and knees in the previous entry about the smart plugs? Here’s another purchase that significantly eases the strain on my joints every time I use it. Making repairs on the deck this spring/summer was much simpler with this belt sander compared to the rotary version I already had. The investment was minimal, and the outcomes were outstanding.
