Vertigo By The Numbers

With the release of Vertigo just around the corner, I thought it would be fun to take a break from song spotlights and share some behind-the-scenes facts about the album.

Every record has its own story.

Sometimes that story is found in the lyrics.

Sometimes it’s found in the details.

Today, it’s all about the numbers.

🎵 12

The number of songs on Vertigo.

Twelve songs that explore love, memory, uncertainty, self-discovery, perspective, and finding your footing when the world seems determined to keep spinning.

✅ 4

The number of songs already released before the album arrives.

  • Avalanche
  • Obsession
  • Euphoria
  • Vertigo

Each one introduced a different side of the album and helped set the stage for what comes next.

🎧 8

The number of songs still waiting to be heard.

Those tracks include:

  • Turn of Events
  • 1979
  • Seen
  • Calculated Risk
  • Frantic Heart
  • Miles Away
  • The Wink
  • No Place Like This

Only a few more days until they’re no longer secrets.

🎲 1

The song that may best capture the central theme of the album.

For me, that’s Calculated Risk.

The idea that life doesn’t come with guarantees, but some opportunities are worth pursuing anyway, feels deeply connected to the spirit of Vertigo.

💔 1

The most emotionally difficult song on the album.

That honor goes to Frantic Heart.

It’s a song about recognizing that caring about someone and being able to save them aren’t always the same thing.

🕰️ 1

The song most rooted in memory.

1979 blends nostalgia, music, and personal reflection in a way that captures how the past can remain present long after a moment has passed.

😉 1

The album’s biggest curveball.

The Wink.

Most of the album explores relationships, perspective, and personal growth.

Then suddenly there’s a song questioning reality, authenticity, social media, media narratives, and the increasingly blurry line between what’s real and what’s manufactured.

🌈 1

The destination.

No Place Like This closes the album and provides the emotional resolution to the journey.

If Vertigo is about searching for balance, this is where that search finally comes to rest.

🌪️ 1

The title track.

While many of the songs explore change and perspective, Vertigo became the title because it captured the feeling that connected everything together:

Being off balance.

Being transformed.

And eventually finding your footing again.

❤️🌈 The Journey

Looking back at the track list, it’s interesting to see how the album unfolds.

It begins with Obsession, a song about feelings too powerful to ignore.

It ends with No Place Like This, a song about finally knowing where you belong.

Everything in between is the journey.
