10 MORE PRODUCTS WE BOUGHT ON AMAZON THAT WE RECOMMEND (YOU CAN BUY THEM LOCALLY TOO)

Over the years, most of us have purchased something for ourselves or others via Amazon, taking advantage of their free 2-day shipping via Prime (even with the price hike).

Today, we’re sharing a handful of products we’ve personally purchased over the past several years and would recommend if you’re in the market for those items. Most are universal in that everyone uses them, while others are specific to pet lovers, game lovers, and those who fear their power will go out at any moment (lol).

By the way, check out our 2022 post on 10 Products We Bought on Amazon for more recommendations!

With that in mind, here’s our 2023 list along with “our take” on each item. See if you don’t agree.

BOCCE’S BAKERY BURGERS & FRIES TREATS FOR DOGS

OUR TAKE: This is the most recent variety of Bocce Bakery dog treats we’ve purchased, and they get two enthusiastic paws up from our corgi Scamp! One thing we advise is to break the “B” treat up into two pieces and naturally they’ll go twice as far.

fitness

BROOKS MEN’S ADRENALINE GTS 22 SUPPORTIVE RUNNING SHOE

OUR TAKE: Ever since my chiropractor recommended Brooks shoes several years ago due to their strong base support, I’ve been hooked. The comfort and the style of the shoes (whether it’s Beast, Adrenaline, or Ghost) have always been winners to me. They breathe and are flexible on my feet while still feeling solid and molded to my foot’s shape. The wide sole is perfect when running without feeling too heavy.

health

DELUXE SM-110 TWO WAY DISPLAY FINGER PULSE OXIMETER WITH CARRY CASE AND NECK/WRIST CORD

OUR TAKE: The past two years of wondering if the flu or a cold was actually something more serious led our family doctor to recommend purchasing a pulse-oximeter. This simple device takes about 10 seconds to monitor oxygen levels and pulse rate, which provides visual comfort in seeing the oxygen levels in the high 90’s. The inexpensive cost means you may avoid an office call visit to your high-deductible health plan.

books

I SPY LITTLE ANIMALS: A BOARD BOOK OF PICTURE RIDDLES

OUR TAKE: Some kid’s books are either too long to read or too boring to read. The “I Spy” books from Jean Marzollo keeps both the adult and the child engaged right to the last page. I think the curiosity of human nature makes publishing a book that brings (in my case) grandparent and grandchild together in a mutual quest is always a fun, educational and bonding experience.

Other titles we recommend. I did mention my spouse is a teacher, right?

  • Moo, Baa, Fa La La La La! by Sandra Boynton
  • The Little Airplane by Lois Lenski
  • Babies in the Forest Flap Book by Olivia Chin Mueller
  • Winter Dance by Marion Dane Bauer
  • Mr. Cookie Baker by Monica Wellington
  • Barn Dance! by Bill Martin Jr. & John Archambault
  • I Love You Like No Otter by Rose Rossner

ORGANIC WOOL DRYER BALLS XL, HANDMADE LAUNDRY DRYER BALLS

OUR TAKE: Although they note they can replace dryer sheets or fabric softener, we still throw in a Snuggle dryer sheet to be certain we don’t have to deal with static cling. These balls are excellent at reducing the actual time you have to dry clothes, as well as avoiding wrinkles in the fabric itself. Because they’re made of wool, there is no loud clunking sound in your dryer as they work. Just be sure to keep them away from your dog. Scamp loves to get a hold of one and then in complete silence “disappear” to slowly rip it apart.

games

MONIKERS – THE PARTY GAME

OUR TAKE: Monikers is a great game to play with a decent sized group of people. The concept is not hard to understand plus it doesn’t have a reference book you have to keep looking at while playing. Some of the pop culture references can be a bit too much in the “Cards Against Humanity” vein, so be cautious with your player selection (we played with my mid-70’s in-laws and my teenage nieces). You can always take out the objectionable cards before playing. Otherwise, the game is hilarious.

WESTINGHOUSE 4650 WATT PORTABLE GENERATOR

OUR TAKE: These days you hear much about the stability of the power grid and rolling blackouts in different parts of the country. With a lot of frozen products in the freezer downstairs, it only made sense to invest in a portable generator to hedge and provide insurance when the lights go out for a longer period than what we may be accustomed to. This is a more compact, affordable unit for those “just in case” moments. Thankfully we haven’t yet had to use it!

wellness

BIOFREEZE MENTHOL PAIN RELIEVING GEL COLORLESS GEL 4 FL OZ TUBE (PACK OF 2) FOR PAIN RELIEF ASSOCIATED WITH SORE MUSCLES, ARTHRITIS, SIMPLE BACKACHES, AND JOINT PAIN

OUR TAKE: This is another chiropractor-recommended product that for me works wonders (plus it doesn’t smell super strong when applied). It helps ease the pain in the short-term.

YOURS UNIVERSAL DISHWASHER CUTLERY BASKET

OUR TAKE: Seems like an insignificant thing until the bottom of your existing basket in your dishwasher breaks and forks begin to fall through. This cutlery basket is both inexpensive and holds a good number of forks, spoons, knives, and more. We tossed the handle and just leave the basket in place all the time.

pets

FLYING PIG HIGH VELOCITY DOG PET GROOMING DRYER W/HEATER

OUR TAKE: This fall was especially hard on our pup when it came to allergies for some reason. We tried solution after solution with no discernable success. He’d be constantly licking his paws and his tummy was super red for weeks it seemed. Our vet suggested an aggressive bath schedule to hopefully keep the allergens off his skin, recommending this dryer after his time in the tub (which also was good for our carpeting as Scamp loves to flip over and work the water out if he is in any way damp). The dryer is somewhat expensive but worth every penny. Thankfully the first frost brought an end to the allergies, but the regular baths continue just to keep him comfy.
