All of us have those celebrities from our childhood that resonate throughout our lives in one way or another. They almost seem as if they will continue to accompany you throughout your entire life. It’s only when they succumb to things like an illness or unexpected accident that we truly realize they are just people like us. Although her 30-year battle with breast cancer came to a close on August 8th, the legacy of Olivia Newton-John reverberated much further in the days that followed than anyone could have imagined. Landmarks in both Australia and England were illuminated in pink for days after, funeral plans quickly turned into more of a concert celebrating her life, AMC Theaters returned her classic film “Grease” to theaters across the U.S., and iTunes charts lit up with her rich catalog, at one point occupying the majority of positions on both the singles and album charts.
