It’s Like I’m 10-years Old Again

On the tenth day of highlighting lesser known Christmas songs (or those you may have forgotten), my choice of artist Is consistently been one of my favorites within all genres of music all throughout the year- tobyMac.

The song I highlight in the blog today is “Christmas This Year”. Featuring Leigh Nash, the tune is the lead off track from the 2011 “Christmas in Diverse City” album, but also shows up again on 2017’s “Light of Christmas”, the latter featuring guest artists Relient K, Owl City, Leigh Nash, Nirva Ready, and Jamie Grace.

TobyMac

Toby McKeehan (stage name tobyMac) is a Christian hip-hop artist whose start began within the trio DCTalk in 1987. Beginning in 2000, he launched an extremely successful solo career, releasing 7 studio albums and becoming only the third Christian artist to debut at #1 on Billboard’s 200 Album Chart, with 2012’s “Eye on It”.

His single releases include the hits “The Slam”, “Gone”, “Made To Love”, “City On Our Knees”, “Tonight” (with Skillet frontman John Cooper), “Me Without You”, “Showstopper”, “I Just Need You” and more (of course).

tobyMac is a 3-time Grammy winner (from 12 nominations), has won three BIllboard Music Awards, one American Music Award, and 20 GMA Dove Awards (from 54 nominations). His most recent album is “The Elements” from 2018.

If you’d like to listen to the playlist as it’s created this month, preview the tracks and then log into Spotify to listen!
