Tomorrow, Vertigo finally arrives.
It’s strange how long a project can live in your mind before it becomes something real.
For months, and in some cases years, these songs have existed as ideas, melodies, lyrics, revisions, late-night notes, questions, experiments, and possibilities. Some songs remained almost exactly as I first imagined them. Others evolved into something entirely different.
Now, with release day only hours away, I’m finding myself thinking less about the destination and more about the journey that got me here.
A Long Time Coming
One of the most unique aspects of Vertigo is that it isn’t built entirely from new ideas.
Several songs on the album trace their roots back nearly 45 years.

Those songs were written by someone looking at the world through a very different lens.
Revisiting them wasn’t about preserving the past.
It was about understanding what those songs had to say today.
The younger songwriter provided the beginnings.
Time provided the perspective.
More Than An Album
Over the course of this countdown, I’ve talked about themes like love, uncertainty, memory, identity, risk, and perspective.
Looking at the finished album now, I realize Vertigo became more than any single one of those things.
It’s a collection of moments.
Some joyful.
Some reflective.
Some uncertain.
Some hopeful.
Some looking backward.
Some looking ahead.
Together, they tell a story about finding your footing when life doesn’t always give you clear directions.
