Today, we’re sharing a handful of products we’ve personally purchased over the past several years and would recommend if you’re in the market for those items. Most are universal in that everyone uses them, while others are specific to pet lovers, game lovers, and butter lovers (lol).

OUR TAKE: IF YOU HAVE A POND, AND YOU NEED A PRODUCT TO KEEP THE WATER CLEAR, THESE SMALL BALES OF BARLEY ACT AS A NATURAL FILTER AND WORK WONDERFULLY TO KEEP THINGS CRYSTAL CLEAR (WE ALSO USE HYDROGEN PEROXIDE BY THE BOTTLE).
OUR TAKE: WE’VE USED THIS OVER TWO SUMMERS SO FAR AND IT’S A GREAT MOWER FOR OUR SLIGHTLY LARGER THAN NORMAL LAWN. PLUS IN THE FALL, IT MULCHES LEAVES PERFECTLY INTO THE SOIL WITHOUT THE NEED TO RAKE AND/OR BAG THEM.
NEW – BUTLER LEANTREATS – NUTRITONAL REWARDS FOR DOGS
OUR TAKE: These tend to be our “go-to” treat for Scamp, our Pembroke Welsh Corgi. Made in the USA, these treats will get our Corg running from anywhere in the house to do whatever is needed to be rewarded. We normally split the treats in two (they’re softer chews) and store them by the back door in an empty International Coffee container (we recommend French Vanilla Cappuccino).
Also recommended: Greenies Blueberry Natural Dog Treats and Purina ProPlan Veterinary Diets Dental Chewz (you know the saying “Love a Dog…and never eat alone”? These give you a head start on eating your own dinner…seriously!)
NEW – sun joe SPX3000 pressure washer
OUR TAKE: Easy to assemble, easy to use. We purchased ours primarily to strip our deck of old stain in preparation to redo the deck’s surface. Worked well and saved a lot of elbow grease. We also use it to clean siding, wash our car, clean flagstone by the aforementioned pond. It was definitely worth the money and is powerful enough for many jobs.
NEW – sharp carousel 1.4 cu. ft. 1000W countertop microwave oven
OUR TAKE: DOES WHAT YOU’D EXPECT FROM A MICROWAVE. WE LOVE THE +30 SECOND SETTING, THE BEVERAGE BUTTON (YOU KNOW…THE INTERNATIONAL COFFEE AND ALL), THE SENSOR REHEAT CAPABILITY, AND EASE IN SOFTENING BUTTER AND ICE CREAM.
OUR TAKE: SUCH AN EASY FIX TO LIGHT UP THE DRIVEWAY AND GARAGE AREA…AND SUPER ECONOMICAL.
NEW – RING VIDEO DOORBELL
OUR TAKE: WE LOVE IT, WITH THE EXCEPTION OF HAVING TO WATER PLANTS BY OUR FRONT DOOR AND THE DOORBELL DETECTING US. THE NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH NOTIFICATIONS ARE GREAT, KNOWING PEOPLE ARE AT THE DOOR WHEN WE’RE 2 HOURS AWAY IS HANDY, & THE SOLAR RECHARGING PANEL WE BOUGHT AVOIDS HARDWIRING (WE CHARGE THE UNIT ABOUT TWICE A YEAR BECAUSE OF IT).
NEW – codenames – the game
OUR TAKE: Who wouldn’t love a game that involves spymasters and secret agents working together to unmask the competition…using only one word clues. You have to be careful not to unmask your own agents, and avoid the assassin. Our daughter and son-in-law introduced us to this awesome game, and we liked it so much, we bought our own.

NEW – Arc International Luminarc Cow Butter Dish, 6-1/2-Inch by 2-3/4-Inch
OUR TAKE: IT’S ONE OF THOSE THINGS YOU DON’T REALLY THINK ABOUT, BUT THEN YOU’RE SPREADING SOFTENED BUTTER ON A BAGEL OR BREAD, AND IT’S THEN YOU APPRECIATE THIS SWEET BUTTER DISH. LOVE HAVING IT ON THE COUNTER AND EASILY ACCESSIBLE. NICE LOOKING AND FUNCTIONAL.
NEW – Charming Pet Animates lamb Plush Squeaky Dog Toy
OUR TAKE: SCAMP (OUR CORGI AS NOTED ABOVE) IS ENAMORED WITH “LAMBIE”, HIS PLUSH SQUEAKY TOY. IT’S AS TOUCH AS ADVERTISED AND WITH TWO SQUEAK LEVELS, THIS IS DEFINITELY THE TOY HE PREFERS OVER ALL OTHERS WHEN PLAYING TUG OF WAR. EASY TO FIGHT OVER WITH THE EARS & LEGS, HE WILL GRAB IT AND ZOOM THROUGH THE HOUSE. SO IMPORTANT IS THIS SPECIFIC TOY THAT OVER THE PAST 5 YEARS, WE’VE PURCHASED 11 OF THEM (ALWAYS HAVE A BACK-UP). IT’S GREAT TOO THAT IT’S NOT EASY TO GET TO THE SQUEAKER, BUT EVENTUALLY THAT HAPPENS TOO.
