It’s the First of December…

With the Christmas season upon us, I thought I’d spend each day this month highlighting a little-known Christmas tune that you might want to add to your Spotify playlist this year.

First up is “Christmas On My Radio”, recorded by Aussie icon Olivia Newton-John.  If you’re a fan of “Hopelessly Devoted To You” from the monster hit “Grease”, you will most likely appreciate this tune’s familiar pace and feel.

It’s taken from Olivia’s 2007 album “Christmas Wish”, which features a number of adult contemporary vocal guests (Michael McDonald, Jon Secada, and Barry Manilow) to name a few.

ONJ has had hits with singles like “Have You Never Been Mellow”, “Please Mr. Please”, “I Honestly Love You”, “Let Me Be There”, “Twist of Fate” (featured in the finale of Season 2 of “Stranger Things”), “You’re the One That I Want” and Summer Nights (both with John Travolta), the Oscar nominated “Hopelessly Devoted To You”, “Physical” (the number one song of the entire 80’s decade), “Magic”, “Xanadu” (with the Electric Light Orchestra), “Suddenly” (with Cliff Richard), “A Little More Love”, “Heart Attack”, and “If You Love Me (Let Me Know)” – just to name a few.

Newton-John is a four-time Grammy award winner who has charted 5 number-one singles, and sold more than 100 million records worldwide, making her one of the best-selling artists of all time. Her most recent release is “Friends for Christmas” with John Farnham (2016).

Check it out via the link below and have a great holiday!
