Any sane person would say their idea of an ideal week would be time spent while on vacation. However, if you’re like me, vacation week can be a bit chaotic and full of anxiety both before, during, and after vacation! Preparing for the time off can be a momentous undertaking, while returning to work is equally taxing as you may struggle to recover from the backlog of work that accumulates while you are out.
So, what does the ideal week look like for me? I will tackle that question from multiple angles and will always strive to live my best life… eight days a week!
WORKING 9 TO 5
The perfect work week for me would be one filled with purposeful calls and meetings that flow effortlessly, yielding high productivity, or even better, a week with no meetings at all, allowing me to dive into email inquiries and the projects that truly engage me. Easing into the week on Monday, Tuesday through Thursday would be packed with the bulk of the work, while Friday would gradually transition to a point where I can confidently embrace the weekend, free from lingering issues or unresolved concerns. Ah, the epitome of an ideal week.
LIVE IN SUCH A SWEET LIFE
The most crucial aspect of the perfect week centers around my personal life beyond work and leisure. Every day, cherishing moments with my beloved wife brings immense joy. In her eyes, I find a reflection of my best self – the one unaffected by uncontrollable circumstances, exuding wit, and hopefully, a dash of charm at every opportune moment. It’s the version of me that ensures she knows the depth of my feelings for her, day after day, week after week, year after year, and decade after decade.
Naturally, I would spend plenty of time (and energy) on moments with my 3-year-old grandson too. From morning until evening, we could explore the wonders of nature together, taking leisurely walks in the park, examining colorful flowers, and watching the birds and squirrels in action. We could play fun games, read (always humorous) storybooks, and even engage in creative art projects (with Gamma of course) that would bolster his young imagination, with Purple Chickens and Wooly Mammoths included naturally (inside joke in case you’re curious).
The ideal week would also be full of things I enjoy on a regular basis, namely good TV, good music, good food, a good book as well as a few good workouts. Missing from my ideal week would be excessive chores, yard work, DIY projects, laundry, and trips to anywhere I don’t want to go.
NOW IT’S YOUR TURN
