I have a three-year old grandson who loves pancakes. He has neither the time nor the inclination to enjoy waffles in the same way he loves his precious pancakes. They are DEFINITELY not the same thing!
When we first began having him stay over on the occasional weekend, we’d end up making an early morning pitstop at our neighborhood Cracker Barrel the next day to partake in two of his favorite pastimes – monster trucks…and pancakes. Rather than calling the restaurant by it’s actual name, he’d see the logo or a sign and say “ooh, look Papa, it’s the Pancake Store!”
Pancakes are an integral part of breakfast internationally (you know what the “I” in IHOP stands for of course).
However, on the flip side (pardon the pun), you’ve gotta give kudos to those complimentary breakfast nooks at most hotels that let you make your own waffles, as it just elevates an otherwise okay experience at a chain hotel just a bit while also saving you and your family time and money. With so many varieties and toppings these days, waffles are as popular today as pancakes, but to what extent does one of the two breakfast staples dominate the other?
There’s only one way to find out! For today’s “This…or That”, we’ve set the table for a poll on the sweeter side of breakfast…only on Moteventure.
