WHAT WE’RE WATCHING: RACE TO SURVIVE ALASKA

Imagine you’re a TV network producer and you pull down a metaphorical blender from a cupboard. In it, you throw in a bit of “The Amazing Race” as well as an equal dose of “Survivor”. Stir well and then mix in a few familiar faces from “Naked & Afraid”, albeit this time fully clothed.

To top it all off, add in $500,000 in prize money for the team that comes out on top after 40 days and 6 race legs…oh yeah, some bears too (1 every square mile!)

What you create, “Race to Survive Alaska” isn’t exactly a competition “like no other”, but the contestants are engaging, and the challenges are unique and fun to watch.

WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE BRANDS AND WHY?

Brooks (great support in a shoe without being ugly); Skippy (personal preference over Jif); Nissan (decent quality without the price); Dunkin’s (only coffee I can drink black); BlenderBottle (the spring inside); Puritan’s Pride (where else do you buy 1 bottle and get 2 free?); Chick-Fil-A (slave to those chicken strips). I’m sure there are more, but these are the first to come to mind.

  1. Amazing post
I found your blog post about “Race to Survive Alaska” very engaging and exciting to read. The metaphorical blender experiment for the show is very creative, and I love the addition of some bears to make it even more challenging. My logical question for you is, what kind of challenges did the contestants face in the show? Did they involve more mental or physical prowess?
