It reads: “To walk in nature is to witness a thousand miracles.” Ms. Davis surely was contemplating the natural cycle of life and how the breathtaking beauty of hiking in the wild can facilitate your oneness with nature. But what Ms. Davis definitely did not have in mind were body-burying landslides, predatory bears, cardiac arrest, bone-breaking falls, and heart-chilling hypothermia. Hikes can be very dangerous.
