Chapter Fifteen

The air crackled with excitement as the 2025 Global Alliance Forum unveiled its magic at the Concorde Convention Centre in the vibrant heart of Paris, where a dazzling array of innovation and brilliance came together beneath the magnificent glass dome. 

Among the notable attendees were U.S. President Robert Prescott, recognized for his views on national security and the economy, and Canadian Prime Minister Olivia Johnson, a supporter of conservative values and trade. German Chancellor Wolfgang Schmidt stood with Nigerian President Ahmed Musa, both representing their countries with enthusiasm. 

Prime Minister Hiroshi Nakamura of Japan, a fan of technology, and President Manuel Lopez of Mexico, a supporter of regional teamwork, were also there, eager to join the conversation. As the leaders greeted each other and sat down, the room buzzed with energy, reflecting their collaborative spirit and common goals. 

From the United States and China to rising powers like India and Brazil, the forum was a blend of cultures and economic strengths. European countries like Germany, the United Kingdom, and France contributed their rich histories and innovations, while Japan and South Korea highlighted their technology. Representatives from Canada, Russia, Mexico, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Italy, Australia, Taiwan, South Africa, Thailand, Spain, Argentina, Poland, the Netherlands, and the United Arab Emirates also participated. Each nation offered unique insights and solutions, showcasing global cooperation and progress. 

At the heart of the summit was Maxwell Thrasher, MedAmericaOne’s visionary CEO, his reputation for disruption and brilliance preceding him. Soon he would unveil a breakthrough that promised to redefine healthcare—the world held its breath anticipating the moment the enigmatic man stepped (or rather rolled) into the spotlight, ready to present the subdermal technology that would revolutionize how humanity approached health and well-being.

Eli Thorne connected to the encrypted network, watching the link bounce around the globe swiftly before it established its final connection with Coop Kennedy, who sat across the room. 

“Connection’s good,” Thorne said, inserting an earpiece. 

Static filled his ear but quickly cleared. “Say something and send the test data. We need to ensure both the plan and tech are operational.” 

Coop uploaded a random file and spoke normally. “So, Eli… how’s the weather over there?” he asked with a grin, then hit enter. 

Thorne smirked. “Clear, but the forecast says it’s about to get stormy.” 

Abi leaned over Eli’s shoulder, her eyes surveying the file as it quickly downloaded to the laptop. 

“Are we sure this is going to work?” she appealed to Thorne. 

Thorne nodded, his mind racing. “Prepare the gear. We’re moving out in ten.” The thrill of the chase surged through him, knowing that every step took them closer to uncovering the conspiracy they were determined to expose. 

Thorne stared at the screen, eyes glinting with determination. “We’re going to expose Thrasher’s secrets to the world,” he declared. “GAF is our stage, and Thrasher’s speech is our window.” 

The team huddled around Thorne, intensity radiating from each member. Abi outlined the plan, her voice steady. “Brad, Winn, and I will handle the security grids. Coop and Caroline, you’re on tech support. Thorne, you’ll slip past the guards and hijack the presentation.” 

Brad cracked his knuckles. “We’ve got this. Let’s make Thrasher squirm.”

In Paris, the atmosphere buzzed with anticipation as Maxwell Thrasher took the stage at the highly secured Global Economic Forum 25. Thorne and his team had already infiltrated the venue. Brad, Winn, and Abi were in position, working to disable the security systems without raising alarms. 

“Systems are going down in five,” Brad whispered into his mic. “Get ready.” 

Coop and Caroline monitored the tech from their makeshift command center. “You’re clear, Thorne. Go now,” Coop instructed. 

With practiced ease, Thorne slipped past the guards, weaving through the crowded room toward the stage. Thrasher’s confident voice echoed as he addressed the audience, unaware of the storm about to hit. 

Thorne reached the side of the stage, locking eyes with his team one last time. “On my mark,” he whispered. 

As Thrasher reached the crescendo of his speech, Thorne moved swiftly. He stepped into the spotlight, cutting the CEO off mid-sentence. 

“Ladies and gentlemen,” Thorne’s voice rang out, “the truth Maxwell Thrasher has kept hidden ends today.”
