Being a Christian, I tend to think that God has a plan and his plan is exclusively under his control. However, I also believe that the road to the eventual completion of the plan is one He plays somewhat loose with.

Because God allows each of us to choose our own paths and make decisions, I don’t believe we are just robots in a grand plan. I think God knows what we will choose before we even realize the question, but He gives us the freedom to decide our own paths in life through free will.
Not being a master theologian, it leaves me wondering how we can change our fate and/or destiny. Prayer seems to me to be the point where we both praise and also let God know our innermost feelings and needs on a personal level, even though we know He already knows what we need.

Further to the point, I contend that it is through the act of prayer that fate and/or destiny may be altered from our human vantage point; however, given His omnipotence, God possesses complete awareness of the impending changes.
So, do I believe in fate and/or destiny? Indeed, I hold the conviction that what is meant to transpire will occur as intended in my life. Que Sera, Sera.
