In Memorium: Paying Tribute to the Celebrities Who Have Died in 2024
In the year marked by the significant fall of Bashar al-Assad in Syria, the protracted 13-year civil war came to an end, altering the geopolitical landscape of the Middle East. The Paris Summer Olympics showcased extraordinary athletic performances while the conflict between Ukraine and Russia continued into its third year, further intensifying the ongoing Israel/Hamas hostilities. This year also witnessed one of the most expensive and contentious Presidential campaigns in U.S. history, with former President Donald J. Trump surpassing Kamala Harris in both the popular and Electoral College votes, thereby enacting a profound shift in American political dynamics. Additionally, Taylor Swift made a remarkable achievement as the first artist to secure Album of the Year at the Grammys on four occasions, while the series “Yellowstone” completed its fifth season with the demise of the family patriarch, John Dutton, amid Kevin Costner’s departure.
