The latest installment of my featured novel “Relentless” is here!

I am thrilled to publish the novel in small, digestible installments, allowing readers to quickly immerse themselves in the unfolding story! Years ago, I was captivated by Stephen King’s innovative approach to storytelling with “The Green Mile,” releasing each part over many months, and now I am inspired to carry on that incredible tradition with Moteventure!

WHAT IS “RELENTLESS” ABOUT?

“Relentless” follows the gripping journey of Abi Spencer and her close friend Winn Starr as they navigate a dangerous world teeming with hidden agendas and relentless adversaries. Maxwell Thrasher, whose technological implant poses a global threat to humanity, is fast-tracking the untested device knowing it’s evil intent and unimaginable consequences. Joined by Dr. Caroline Kramer and Coop Kennedy, Abi & Winn race against time to employ daring strategies to disrupt Thrasher’s plans, leading them into a web of intrigue, betrayal, and the fight for survival against overwhelming odds.

RELENTLESS – D.S. FACTOR

Chapter Thirteen

Abi Spencer and Winn Starr sat silently as their plane began its descent into Paris. The lights of the city below twinkled like a thousand watchful eyes, a stark reminder of the dangers that lay ahead. As the wheels touched down, a sense of urgency settled over them. They had managed to secure new identities thanks to Marcus, but there was no telling how long they could stay under the radar.

The airport was bustling with activity, a sea of faces moving in every direction. Abi and Winn, now posing as Amy Sinclair and Will Stone, weaved their way through the crowds, keeping their heads down. Their first priority was to find Dr. Caroline Kramer and her colleague, Coop Kennedy, before Thrasher’s men did.

Outside the terminal, a cold wind whipped through the streets, carrying with it the scent of impending rain. They hailed a cab and gave the driver the address Marcus had provided—a small, nondescript apartment on the outskirts of the city. As they drove through the winding streets, Abi couldn’t shake the feeling of being watched.

Meanwhile, across town, Dr. Caroline Kramer and Coop Kennedy were poring over the implant’s code. “Look at this,” Caroline said, pointing to a sequence of numbers and symbols on her laptop screen. “These messages are embedded deep within the software. It’s as if someone wanted them hidden in plain sight.”

Coop leaned closer, his brow furrowing. “This is a smoking gun, Caroline. If we can decode these messages, perhaps we can expose Thrasher’s true intentions. But we have to move fast—he’s not going to sit idle while we unravel his plan.”

Just then, the sound of a door being forced open echoed through the apartment. They barely had time to react before Thrasher’s men burst in, weapons drawn. “We’re out of time,” Caroline whispered, her heart pounding in her chest.

Back in the cab, Abi and Winn received a message from Marcus. “You’ve been compromised. Thrasher’s men are onto you. Change your location immediately.” The message was a chilling reminder of the stakes. They instructed the driver to take them to a new address—an abandoned warehouse in the industrial district.

As they approached the warehouse, Abi spotted movement in the shadows. “We’re not alone,” she muttered to Winn. They slipped into the building, their senses heightened. Inside, they found Caroline and Coop, bruised but alive.

“We need to move quickly,” Winn said, helping Caroline to her feet. “What did you find?”

Caroline handed them a USB drive. “This contains the decoded messages. Thrasher’s implant isn’t just dangerous; it’s a ticking time bomb. We need to expose this before he makes his announcement.”

Coop nodded. “We’ve only scratched the surface. There are references to a broader deployment plan—cities across the globe. If Thrasher succeeds, the consequences will be catastrophic.”

Abi took a deep breath, her mind racing. “We need a plan. Thrasher’s security will be tight. We can’t just walk into the conference.”

Winn paced the room, thinking. “We need to create a diversion—something big enough to draw his attention and give us the window we need.”

Caroline glanced at her laptop. “There’s an underground network of activists here in Paris. They’ve been protesting against invasive technology and could help us. If we can get them on our side, we might have a chance.”

“Do we have any contacts?” Abi asked, hopeful.

“Yes,” Coop said, pulling out his phone. “I’ll reach out to them. But it’s a risk. Thrasher has eyes everywhere.”

Abi squared her shoulders. “We don’t have a choice. We’re out of time, and we need all the help we can get. Let’s mobilize the network and get ready to crash Thrasher’s party.”

As they prepared to leave, the gravity of their mission settled over them. The streets of Paris lay ahead, filled with both danger and hope. Together, they would fight to expose the truth and stop Thrasher’s plan, no matter the cost.

Suddenly, the warehouse door creaked open. They all spun around, ready for a fight. But nothing could have prepared Abi for what she saw next. Standing in the doorway, alive and seemingly unharmed, was Brad Spencer—her husband, whom she believed had been executed by Thrasher’s team.

“Brad?” Abi gasped, her voice trembling with a mix of shock and confusion. “How… how are you here?”

Brad’s eyes darted around nervously before he smiled, relief washing over his face. “Abi, I can’t believe it’s you! I managed to escape… It’s a long story. I’ve been working with Thrasher’s team, but I’m here to help you.”

Abi’s mind raced, torn between joy and suspicion. “Why didn’t you contact me sooner?”

Brad sighed, looking weary. “Thrasher has eyes everywhere. It wasn’t safe. I had to bide my time and find the right moment. When I heard you were in Paris, I knew I had to find you. We need to stop Thrasher together.”

The room fell silent, the weight of his words hanging in the air. Abi glanced at Winn, Caroline, and Coop, who all wore expressions of wary trust. This unexpected reunion added a layer of complexity to their mission. Could Brad truly be trusted, or was his arrival just another part of Thrasher’s elaborate plan?
