WE JUST DISAGREE

Daily writing prompt
What public figure do you disagree with the most?

It’s often challenging to choose from the myriad of options presented to us.

Public figures whom I frequently find myself at odds with are those who mistakenly believe that their celebrity status qualifies them to dictate my thoughts on subjects they know little about.

This can include a music star using their platform to push political views and belittle those who disagree. It could also be a football celebrity publicly denouncing widely accepted beliefs. Social activists may destroy valuable artwork to gain attention for their cause, regardless of its rightness or wrongness. Even esteemed actors sometimes overstep their bounds, believing their fame gives them authority on matters outside of their profession. News anchors may blur personal opinions with factual information, while neighbors who unquestioningly accept the truth they’re presented often grate on my nerves. Lastly, politicians who publicly display one stance but vote contrary to public support are particularly frustrating.

NOW IT’S YOUR TURN

I’ve said (or typed) my piece. Who in the public realm do you adamantly disagree with? Share your thoughts with a comment.
