Aviator Amelia Earhart’s 1937 disappearance kickstarted one of the most enduring mysteries in aviation history. As the National Air and Space Museum explains, Earhart and her navigator Fred Noonan set out east from Oakland, California on May 21 in a signature, twin-engine Lockheed Electra to travel all the way around the world.
By June 29 they’d covered 22,000 miles and reached Lae, New Guinea. By July 2 they were in the air again and headed toward their next stop at Howland Island. Per the Earhart Project, they’d already made 29 stops by then.
There would have been only one more stop after Howland Island — Honolulu, Hawaii — before the pair successfully landed back in Oakland. But they never arrived at Howland Island, and no one knows exactly what happened.

WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE SPORTS TO WATCH AND PLAY?
To watch, I’d say college football (go Hawks!), NFL if it’s anticipated to be a good match-up, baseball (love our minor league team games now and then).
To play, I’d go with baseball and basketball (informally and just for fun of course).

WHAT WE’RE WATCHING: CALL THE MIDWIFE| MOTEVENTURE
Adapted by Heidi Thomas from the best-selling memoirs of Jennifer Worth, this drama series is a moving, funny, colorful look at midwifery and family in 1950s East End London. It follows newly qualified midwife Jenny, who joins an eccentric, lovable community of nuns who are nurses at Nonnatus House. Jenny is surprised to find herself at a convent — she thought she was being sent to a small private hospital — and is initially daunted by her surroundings, most notably the formidable Sister Evangelina and the unconventional Sister Monica Joan. But Jenny gradually begins to find her way and develops incredible friendships among the nurses, as they are drawn into the lives and homes of the women and families they treat. (Rotten Tomatoes)
Jessica Raine (The Devil’s Hour) and Vanessa Redgrave (Atonement) lead a great ensemble cast in a series that boast a 94% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
