What have you been working on?

In central Iowa, the temperature has been falling consistently into the 60’s during the day and ten or more degrees chillier at night. Pumpkins, hay bales and mums are showing up in the front yards of my neighbors’ homes, and autumn leaves are falling (or blowing) all over the place.

This is the time of year when you hope for an Indian summer, and then take advantage of those days to prepare your home for the winter season which no doubt is just around the corner.

Despite both of us fighting the remnants of a fall cold, yesterday we spent hours sucking up leaves from our flowering crab trees, storing tables, chairs and other odds and ends from the deck in the storage shed, and trimming a few bushes that had grown a bit wild in the past few weeks.

Today, I’ll be soon mowing the front yard, mulching the leaves and later using the dethatcher to aerate the ground for the lawn’s return next spring.

This morning, I worked a bit on posts for the blog for next week, contemplated the next chapter(s) in “Relentless”, and plotted designs for Christmas apparel.

Always aware of what work will entail in the new week as well, as this is my busiest time of the year.

I guess that’s all for now.

Be well and be blessed!
