Two things (or scenarios if you will) come to mind when I contemplate the extremes of hot and cold. In the first, it’s the middle of winter and you flip on the weather as a big storm is building in the area, finding a reporter that seems to have just graduated junior high. They’re visibly excited by the impending explosion of the white stuff, as they’re an avid skier, sledder, and snowman-builder. They finish up their report with a brief “back to you in the studio Stacy”. Stacy then smiles into the camera with super-white teeth and then scrunches up her face and says “Ooh, I am not looking forward to that. They can keep it. Every bit of it!”

The second scenario happens on the strip in Las Vegas. The heat is such that you can feel it pulsating from the sidewalk in waves across your face. As you stand with other bystanders watching the sweet Bellagio fountains, you say “wow, is it hot or what out?” to no one in particular. Out of the blue, the stranger next to you pipes up with “oh, but it’s a dry heat”.

How many times have you experienced those scenarios in your life?

For today’s “This…or That”, I thought I’d present a poll on whether you can take the heat or would rather be left out in the cold here on Moteventure.
